407 Training VISA Program

The Training visa (subclass 407) is a temporary visa that allows individuals to come to Australia to participate in occupational training or professional development programs. It is designed to facilitate the exchange of skills, knowledge, and technology between Australian businesses and overseas organizations.

Further, the 407-training visa is a temporary residence visa which allows you to participate in occupational training activities, including classroom-based professional development activities, to help to improve your skills. At the same time, student will be able to earn descent amount of income as the sponsoring employer will be provide government recommended salaries while you are in training.

In summary the Training VISA 407 will provide you with paid employment and an Australian qualification.

Duration of the Training VISA 407 is between 3 to 24 months. Duration is dependent on your education and employment history.

Eligibility

  • You can only apply if it is related to your current course of study or employment.
  • Applicants must have recent 12 months’ experience (study or work) in the nominated occupation.
  • You must be 18 years old or older at the time we submit your visa application.
  • You must have functional English.
  • All applicants will undergo a character reference.
  • You must maintain adequate health insurance for the whole of your stay in Australia.
  • Have no debt with the Australian Government.
  • Ability to pay for your immigration fees and professional assistance, insurances, airfares, training plan, support fees and other contingency costs

You will need to supply

  • Copy of current passport.
  • Your current CV / résumé.
  • A recent photograph (head and shoulders, on plain light background).
  • Copy of your NIC card.
  • Copies of any other government-issued identity documents, such as Birth Certificate, Driver’s Licence.
  • Copies of your Qualification and Certificate(s) at a secondary and tertiary level.
  • Copies of any professional Registration or Licence held, relevant to your nominated occupation (if applicable).
  • Employer Reference(s), or Statement(s) of Service, evidencing at least 1 year’s full-time experience during the last 5 years, in the same occupation as the one for which you are nominated. (Must be on letterhead and signed)
  • Police clearance

You must be sponsored by an employer

  • KIBT will help you find a suitable sponsor and develop a training plan working in conjunction with an Australian TAFE education institution.

Completion

  • You must either leave Australia on the date, or within the period specified in your visa grant; or make an application for another type of visa that allows you to remain in Australia.
